According to BS617, if a power operated flue system exists for a gas appliance in a commercial kitchen then a gas safety interlock must be fitted.

Regulation 27 (4) of the GSIUR states that: No Person shall install a power operated flue system for a gas appliance unless it safely prevents the operation of the appliance if the draught fails.
